1) Floors are swept and damp mopped to remove all dirt/debris, gum etc. prior to  Floor Stripping & Waxing Services.

2) Using an electric floor scrubber, wet-dry vacuum and specialized solution, we thoroughly remove old wax/finish buildup, embedded dirt, soil, grease, scrape marks & scuffs. 

3) Once the floor is stripped, a gentle neutralizer solution is then applied so that your new floor finish will adequately adhere to the clean floor.  Floors are waxed to provide protection and exceptional shine to floors! (END RESULT OF SHINE WILL DEPEND ON # OF COATS OF FLOOR FINISH)

***Floor waxing provide a look of depth in sheen, and reflections are mirror like. Floors will look cleaner, be safer, enable secure footing, and are more slip resistant, which is always a plus. Floor waxing and floor finish products create a necessary protective final touch, and add to flooring longevity. They are a great investment, saving time and money in the long run.

Over time the build up of wax, or other floor finishes, will give your hard floor surfaces a dull, hazy, or yellowed look* No matter how hard you clean and scrub you just can’t get this yellowing and haze to go away. The best solution is to strip off the old floor finish and start over.  Floor Stripping is also beneficial on new  VCT flooring to remove residue, glue & scuff marks prior to sealing and applying additional coats of floor finish.

• Floor Stripping

This process involves complete removal of all coats of floor finish/wax that is currently on flooring until the bare floor is visible. *Depending upon how many coats are on the floor and if the proper floor care maintenance procedures were followed, this process may have to be completed more than once in order to properly prepare the floor for waxing and to obtain the best desirable results.

• Floor Waxing

This process involves applying a thin, even protective layer of floor finish to restore shine to flooring and protect against damage through wear and tear plus foot traffic.  Each coat typically takes approximately 20-30 minutes to dry and 12-24 hours to cure.

• Top Scrubbing

This process involves cleaning/scrubbing the floor to remove the top 1-2 layers of old floor finish/wax before re-coating with 1-2 coats of freshly applied floor finish (does not require a full/complete strip and wax) *This particular procedure is not beneficial if the floors have not been professionally cleaned and/or maintained over several months.  Most flooring companies will not perform this service until after they have done the initial strip and wax.

                                                                   ROUTINE FLOOR MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

Whether you contract with us or decide to have your staff and/or cleaning service take care of this, deciding to implement a Floor Maintenance Program is a very important step in the upkeep of your floor.  Doing so will prolong the life of the floors and keep your floors looking up to par in between having to do complete restorative care maintenance (Complete Stripping & Waxing). The frequency of such routine maintenance should be determined after consideration of daily foot traffic, expectation of gloss/shine duration, cosmetic importance and daily cleanings of floor (Dust mopping, Damp Mopping).

Methods (All Methods Listed Below Begin With A Complete Dust Mopping/Vacuuming)
                    

 Auto-Scrubbing: Effective method of cleaning floors to remove soil to aid in prevention of                        damaging finish. (Alternative, more aggressive, method of damp                                                                      mopping)

 Low Speed Buffing: Diminishes surface scratches to repair finish to a smooth shine.                                   Usually performed with a spray buff solution or mop-on maintainer.

 High Speed Burnishing: More efficient method (compared to low-speed buffing) in                                     repairing the finish to a smooth shine.
                                                   

                                                       INTERIM FLOOR MAINTENANCE

Top-Scrub and Re-coat: Best applied when outcome of low speed buffing/high speed burnishing are no longer producing desired results. This process gently scrubs off the top layer of current finish to remove embedded dirt, soil, grime & light scratches. The scrubbed off top layer is then replenished with an application of 1-2 coats of finish. *This option is only offered “after” complete strip and wax service by our company.
                                                             

                                                                  RESTORATIVE CARE

Complete Strip & Refinish: Best applied when outcome of Top-Scrub and Re-coat are no longer producing desired results and floor has darkened/yellowed from embedded dirt, soil & grime.
